Digital Documentation of Bazyan Castle and Church
As part of a collaborative initiative between the Department of Archaeology at our College and the French Institute for the Near East (IFPO), a digital documentation project was carried out for Bazyan Castle and Church.
The project was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Simon Brillaud, project director and representative of IFPO, with the participation of several faculty members from the Department of Archaeology. Key contributors included:
- Dr. Nermin Ali – Deputy Project Director
- Ms. Nariman Khana Rahim – PhD candidate in Paris
- Ms. Tawan Abubakr – Specialist in digital documentation and photogrammetry
The project was conducted in coordination with and under the supervision of Ms. Parwin Yawar, representative of the Directorate of Antiquities and Heritage in Sulaimani.
The site was digitally documented using 3D scanning and photogrammetry techniques, ensuring high-resolution preservation of the architectural and historical features of Bazyan Castle and Church.
