Workshop on Advocacy
On 09/09/2025, the Department of Social Work at Salahaddin University organized a workshop on Advocacy against Violence towards Women and Children. The workshop was presented by Mr. Ari Rafiq, the Assistant Director of the Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women – Erbil.
The session focused on various forms of violence faced by women and children, the institutional role in prevention and protection, and the importance of advocacy in raising public awareness and promoting social justice. Faculty members of the Social Work Department actively engaged in the discussions, emphasizing the necessity of collaborative efforts between academia, government institutions, and civil society organizations to address these issues.
The workshop concluded with practical recommendations for enhancing advocacy strategies, strengthening community awareness initiatives, and reinforcing the role of social workers in supporting and protecting vulnerable groups.
